NORRISTOWN, PA − December 10, 2020 − State Senator-Elect Amanda Cappelletti (D-17) announced $4,235,115 in funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) that will help project work pertaining to improving adult probation services, programs to stop violence against women, and resources for child abuse victims in Montgomery and Delaware Counties.
“It is so encouraging that we could secure this funding so early into my term. I know that these resources are crucial to our community development and safety. In Montgomery and Delaware Counties, we have some great organizations that support the wellbeing of our community. By funding them properly, they can work towards their missions with the resources they need.” said Cappelletti.
Montgomery County will receive $158,375 from the second phase of Coronavirus Emergency Supplement Relief funding. The county has also been awarded $705,061 through the County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee (CAPPAC) for the project of improvement of adult probation services. Three organizations will receive funding through CAPAC that will total $1,500,22 for various projects that aim to stop violence against women:

  • Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc.:  $343,686
  • Montgomery County Commissioners:  $1,064,891
  • Women’s Center of Montgomery County:  $91,650

In addition, the Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County will receive $47,000 to fund their NCA accredited services for child abuse victims through the State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds (CACAC).
Delaware County will receive $114,945 in the second phase of Coronavirus Emergency Supplement Relief funding. The county will also receive $671,093 from CAPAC for improvement of adult probation services. In total, the county will be awarded $991,468 through Intermediate Punishment Treatment Funds. These funds will be given to three organizations to support four different projects that aim to stop violence against women:

  • Delaware County Executive Director: $595,215
  • Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Inc.: $208,924
  • Delaware County Women Against Rape: $187,329

Additionally, the Family Support Line of Delaware County, Inc. will receive $47,000 through the CACAC for project work pertaining to Delaware County Children’s Advocacy Center.
