Norristown – September 17, 2026 – Senator Amanda M. Cappelletti (D-17, Delaware/Montgomery) is proud to announce $5,154,186 in grant funding for a diverse array of projects serving Senate District 17.
The Commonwealth Finance Authority will disperse the following investments to recipients through the Statewide Local Share Account (LSA) to support initiatives like multimodal transportation projects, county infrastructure improvements, and more.
“Our local municipalities and nonprofit organizations are advancing impactful projects that will surely improve the overall quality of life for everyone who calls District 17 home,” said Senator Cappelletti. “I am proud to support these projects, and to have advocated for the important investments that will keep them moving forward.”
Local Share Account recipients serving Senate District 17 include:
- East Norriton Township – $700,000 to purchase a Tower Ladder Fire Truck.
- West Norriton Township – $50,000 to install electric vehicle infrastructure at the Jeffersonville Golf Course.
“These projects will have a unique impact on our community. A new fire truck will help our first responders in East Norriton when called to an emergency and the charging stations at Jeffersonville Golf Course will give patrons with clean, pollution-reducing EVs another place to recharge,” said Representative Matt Bradford (D-70, Montgomery). “I’m grateful that these projects are making our community a better place, and I’m pleased that the Shapiro administration is investing in important projects here in Montgomery County that will keep us safe and protect our environment.”
- Ardmore Business District Authority – $68,535 for the Downtown Ardmore Placemaking Program.
- Bridgeport Borough – $508,692 for 440 Mill Street Parking Lot Redevelopment.
- City Avenue Special Services District of Philadelphia and Lower Merion – $400,000 for a Sidewalk Improvement Project along Cala Avenue and N. Highland Avenue.
- Montgomery County – $450,000 for the Valley Forge Connector Trail, Segment 5.
- Upper Merion Township – $348,550 to renovate the public works and municipal facilities in Upper Merion Township.
“These Local Share Account grants are an important investment in the communities we represent. From revitalizing public spaces and improving parking and sidewalks to expanding trail connections and upgrading essential public facilities, these projects will make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of residents,” said Representative Tim Briggs (D-149, Montgomery). “I’m proud to support these investments and grateful to our local partners for their continued work to strengthen our communities and improve the quality of life for everyone who lives and works here.”
- Delaware County Economic Development Corporation – $166,416 for Carelink Community Support Services of PA, Inc. to replace the windows at the Torrey House personal care home.
- Haverford Township – $225,000 for ADA, pedestrian, and roadway safety improvements at the intersection of Colfax and Grasslyn Roads, and the intersection of N. Brierwood Road and Lynnewood Drive.
- Haverford Township – $200,000 to make pedestrian improvements along Eagle Road and Grasslyn Avenue.
- Haverford Township – $400,000 to construct streetscape improvements at the Oakmont Commercial Town Center.
- Montgomery County – $244,236 for the Norristown Public Library to purchase box trucks.
- Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $400,000 to construct the Stoney Creek Bike and Greenway Path.
- Norristown Municipal Waste Authority – $942,211 to rehabilitate parts of the sewer system in Norristown Borough.
- PIDC Financing Corporation – $50,546 for the Regional Clothing Distribution Van Project serving Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties.
