Norristown, PA – October 22, 2024 – Senator Amanda M. Cappelletti (D- Montgomery/Delaware) today announced $543,556 in state grant funding awarded to District Seventeen through the NonProfit Security Grant Program administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). These grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations who principally serve individuals, groups, or institutions that are included within a bias motivation category for single bias hate crime incidents and assist in funding eligible security enhancements designed to protect the safety and security of the users of a facility located in the Commonwealth.
“This is crucial funding to protect the safety of our communities,” said Senator Cappelletti. “I’m proud to work with the centers of faith in the district to ensure they have the resources they need to continue peaceful and meaningful worship.”
The funding awarded in District 17 is as follows:

- Caskey Torah Academy, $95,000
- Gan Israel Chabad, Inc., $24,999
- I.S. Kosloff Torah Academy High School for Girls, $25,000
- Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia, $75,000
- Jewish Relief Agency, $25,000
- Lower Merion Synagogue, $150,000
- Norristown Islamic Society, $73,662
- Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El, $25,000
- The Mesivta High School of Greater Philadelphia, $25,000
